Guiding

Guiding was founded by Robert Baden-Powell and his sister Agnes Baden-Powell in 1910. In 1914 the section we now know as Brownies was founded. In 1916 a senior section was formed and in 1987 the youngest section known as Rainbows arrived. Today the movement has over 10 million members across 145 countries and is especially designed to meet the needs of today's girls and women. We provide opportunities to play games, go on visits and trips, be creative and adventurous. We encourage all members to be responsible, thoughtful and considerate, but above all our aim is to have fun. You can make friends locally and all around the world. Guiding creates endless possibilities for all ages. All members wear a uniform and make a Promise, the emphasis in the Promise is that we will 'do our best'. Our aim is not for everyone to achieve the same standard, simply that each individual is encouraged to reach their full potential.

Young Leader 14 - 18 Years

At the age of 14 there is the opportunity to become a Young Leader. Each individual works towards the Young Leaders Scheme and assists at one of the younger section's meetings.

Adult Volunteers 18+

If you are over the age of 18 there are a number of ways in which you might like to volunteer. You could be a Guider helping with the running of a section - for which full training will be given or you could be a non-uniformed Unit Helper, helping in the background in a variety of different ways. Scouting

4th Carlton Scout Group was originally formed in 1911 and in 1921 was registered as 66th Nottingham until it was disbanded in 1927. In 1933 the group was reformed and registered as 4th Carlton Scout group.

We are a co-educational group with a Beaver Colony, a Cub Pack and a Scout group. We meet at Cavendish Hall, Fraser Square, Carlton, Nottingham, NG4 1NN.

Our meeting times are:

Age 6 - 8 Years
Time Monday 6.30pm - 7.30pm

Cubs
Age 8 - 10 1/2 Years
Time Tuesday 7.00pm - 8.30pm

Scouts
Age 10 1/2 - 14 Years
Time Thursday 7.00pm - 9.00pm
